Our Comprehensive Outdoor Design Process

Step 1: Survey Members

We suggest performing a survey as the first course of action. Garnishing information first-hand is the best way to make informed decisions driven by data. Too many times we see projects that are started via assumptions and flash-in-the-pan ideas that aren’t rooted in real-world information.

If we start our questions with these words, we will get better information instead of a yes or no response.

There are plenty of other things you can ask, be creative and drill down into what you need to know. 

Remember there are a variety of outdoor spaces that can be enhanced be it poolside, bar side or court side. 

Step 2: Plan & Develop

With your data, it’s time to plan and develop your space. New furniture is one of the fastest and most effective ways of enhancing outdoor space and meeting members’ needs. Expectations for high-end country clubs are high and it is essential to nail the furniture purchases.

What are the roadblocks, where is the friction, and what are the complaints? These are the problems we need to solve. If you’re upgrading an unused space, why hasn’t it been used in the past? 

Once you have these mapped out, you need a drawing or map of your area.

Think about developing at least 4 different ideas. This gives you the chance to get ideas down on paper, be it good or bad before iterating and refining. 

Think about limitations such as budget, space and execution only once you’ve come up with a concept. These inhibitions can create artificial barriers to creativity and limit the scope.

Dining spaces must always look beautiful and be able to withstand the rigors of heavy use. Stylish furniture doesn’t have to be weak or high maintenance.

Step 3: Design & Build
